In January 2003, during a practice run, Daniela Iraschko became the first woman ever to fly over 200 metres. She still holds this record today.

In 2010, along with several other athletes, she sued the Vancouver Olympic Games organisers for gender discrimination as the Ski Jump events were for men only.

So, in 2014, she competed in the Olympics first Women's Ski Jumping events in Sochi and she took home the Silver Medal.

Iraschko-Stolz told The Telegraph,

"It means so much to me. I used to dream of winning an Olympic medal. I never thought we would compete in the Olympics. It's like a fairy tale to win silver."

In November 2017, she had to undergo her second knee surgery  of the year and will, therefore and was forced to take a break from training for five weeks. She successfully returned to the jumps in January with a win in a Slovenkian World Cup Event.

Iraschko-Stolz married Isabel Stolz in 2013.
