Is Taylor Swift Gay?
The 'Kaylor' rumour...
The most intriguing rumour to emerge around the web was that Taylor Swift was in a serious relationship with Karlie Kloss. Nothing new in wishful thinking and 'shipping' is a popular pastime these days, but more credence was given to this rumour when the National Press picked it up.
The Daily Mail ran a story about the couple in December 2014. Below is an exert:
"Taylor Swift recently revealed she keeps a spare room in her New York City apartment for best friend Karlie Kloss. And the Victoria's Secret Angel appeared to have indulged in the famous singer's hospitality as she was spotted leaving Swift's living quarters on Thursday. The 22-year-old beauty was looking stunning in black leather trousers and a grey jumper for a stroll through the wintry streets.
The singer and her model pal were at the centre of a Twitter frenzy after a grainy picture emerged on social media that appeared to show them kissing at a concert on last week.
A fan posted the blurry snap along with the caption: 'Exclusive taylor and karlie making out.' " (Video of Swift and Kloss allegedly 'making out' below)
The Mail on Sunday reporting a source close to Taylor stating that “Taylor and Karlie have grown very close. They are inseparable. Taylor wanted someone to live with her, to have some company, and Karlie jumped at the chance to move in with her friend. They spent a lot of time together before Karlie moved in but now they are rarely apart. They do everything together, from visits to the gym to going on road trips."
When the media know or suspect a famous couple of having a secret relationship, they usually begin to use the phase 'B.F.Fs' In this case, though Swift was supposed to be dating Calvin Harris, the Paparazzi showed the B.F.F's spending most of their time together, attending awards ceremonies, dining out, going to the gym and even going on a road trip together.
Taylor acknowledged Kloss had her own bedroom in her home.
The pair made little effort to conceal the amount of time they spent together and often posted affectionate notes/pictures about each other via instagram. Kloss also acknowledged that when Swift was thinking of moving to London, she made her change her mind and Swift instead moved near to Kloss in New York. Swift acknowledged that Kloss had her own bedroom in her home, and there were many framed pictures of the couple around the apartment. Kloss and Swift may just have been genuine B.F.Fs, or has some suggestions have hinted, they were 'glass closeting'. (Glass closeting basically means the closet is completely see-through. In other words, family and friends know, and many others suspect, but the person doesn't officially 'come out' in public.)
Anyway, if all these rumours were true, and we have no idea if they were, the glass closet was smashed to pieces when, in December 20141, a member of the public videod Kloss and Swift apparantly kissing and cuddling at a 1975 concert. The video went viral and was picked up by the press. Then, the photos and their posts to one another totally decreased. Did the 'brand' machine go into overdrive and force a couple very much in love back into a dark wooden closet or was Kloss and Swift's just a genuine friendship that fizzled out.
